It’s 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare and we are celebrating his work by putting on one of his most brilliant comedies. The Comedy of Errors is one of his early plays; it is the shortest and most farcical comedy with a major part of the humour coming from slapstick, puns and word play.

The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. When the situation occurs that they are in the same town, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identity leads to wrongful beating, a near seduction, the arrest of one of the brothers and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness and demonic possession.
