Who The Hell Are You?
Lori Dungey (Canada/New Zealand)

Lori Dungey has been a professional improvisor, actor, writer, director and tutor for over 35 years. She came to Auckland from Vancouver in 1990 for the Theatresports Commonwealth Games Festival and stayed as Artistic Director to Wellington’s The Improvisors. She’s currently a Creative Director, performer and trainer with ConArtists, (formerly Theatresports Auckland).
Lori was a hobbit in Lord of the Rings and this role brings her to Germany, twice a year, to MC fan conventions. She’s done several roles and monster voices on Power Rangers. Last year she did 30 Arts on Tour shows with a 2-woman improvised musical in the style of Jane Austen (Austen Found) and Lori was also water blasted to death in the movie M3GAN.

We’ll explore characters that make bold, precise offers or wildly, chaotic ones– you choose. We’ll work with story archetypes or characters you’d find in every story – the King, the Tyrant, the Wise Elder, the Child, the Fool, the Hero, the Temptress, etc… I could go on but come to the workshop and explore all 50 of them. We’ll also explore some improv structures to help establish where you are and where your story is going. Fill your improv tool kit with some valuable, practical skills.
